We’ve got hundreds of new books coming in today (August 8th) and tomorrow (August 9th) thanks to a big haul from several private collections. If you come into the shop over the next couple of weekends, you’ll see our shelves filling up! We’ll be posting pics here and on Instagram!
We’ve been cleaning up our kids room to make it more spacious and inviting and really focus on picture books you’ll love to read with your children, and young and middle readers. Our YA books have graduated to the big room, because let’s all admit it: adults read them too.
Big genre adds include:
- Coffee table books on animal wildlife
- New rare/old books
- Kids books (Our Golden Book collection is updated, so are our classics, including Scott O’Dell, Beverly Cleary, and one of my absolute favorites from Natalie Babbit: Kneeknock Rise! Step aside Tuck, Everlasting. This is the superior book.)
- Sci-Fi: The Magic of Recluse series, the Singing Sorcerer series, a bunch of Heinlein titles and the 50th anniversary special edition of Dune!
- Memoirs and Non-Fiction (H is for Hawk, Lily and the Octopus, the Sound of a Wild Snail Eating, so many books on fish and the sea!)
- Modern fiction
- Murder mysteries (including Arnaldur Indridason, one of Iceland’s best exports)
- Cookbooks (Tartine, popsicles, fresh baking, and a really fun one from Nancy Silverton anyone?)
