
I tell this story often: the only time in my life I laughed so hard I cried was at a mime show in Fort Collins. No words. Now isn’t that funny?
The topic for our 45th Conversation Cafe will be “Humor.”
“Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company,” said one of America’s premier humorists – Mark Twain. What is funny? What is not? Is humor necessary for survival or is it frosting on the cake? Stephen Colbert said ” You cannot laugh and be afraid at the same time.” Is humor an antidote to fear? Psychological armor? Is it useful in conflict? Does it improve your health, or heal you? The ancient Greeks believed humor to be essentially aggressive. Is kidding an attempt to tell the truth and hide behind humor?
