We have in: this rare copy of Vol. IV of the six volume history of women’s suffrage. The six volumes consist of 5,700 pages written over 41 years. They are the primary documentation of women’s suffrage from its beginning to the 19th amendment in 1920 which gave women the right to vote. The six volumes cover from 1881 to 1922. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton initiated the project in 1876, devoting ten years to the research and collaboration. Both died before it was completed.
Volume IV was published in 1902 by Susan B. Anthony when she was 82. Although Harvard University declined the first three volumes, they changed their mind and ordered this one.
